During a high wind event, power outages are common. Have battery-operated flashlights and a radio with fresh batteries ready to go.Listen for updates on storm conditions and local power outages on Radio Cupertino 1670 AM, and

If your telephone requires electricity, plan for alternate communication such as a standard telephone handset or cellular phone.
Freeze plastic containers with water to keep food safe in your refrigerator or freezer.
Pre-filled sandbags are available for Cupertino residents to pick up at 10555 Mary Avenue, in Cupertino.
Wind and rain often block storm drains with debris. Keep the storm drains on your street clear with a rake or hoe.
If power goes out, please check on your neighbors.
During and after a storm, keep away from flooded areas, downed trees, and downed power lines.
